Agreement with Grand Lake Sailing Club for Regular or Fleet Membership

This agreement is entered into on the "Membership Accepted Date", between Grand Lake Sailing Club ("GLSC") and the above-named Member(s) ("Member"). For Regular Members, this agreement is for the use of one slip and/or for use of dry storage for the above-described boat(s) and/or trailer(s) ("Boat"), subject to the following terms and conditions. For Fleet Members, this agreement is for the use of club-owned boats, subject to the following terms and conditions.

  1. Member assumes the risk of using all club facilities and agrees to make no claims against GLSC for injuries to Member or Member's property or Member's guest or Member's guest's property.
  2. Member agrees to comply with the boating laws of Oklahoma, Grand River Dam Association, and the Grand Lake Sailing Club Bylaws and Standing Rules.
  3. Member agrees that NO ALTERATIONS will be made to the docks or facilities, that they will be kept in a clean and sanitary condition, and that no unnecessary wear and tear, disturbance, nuisance, rubbish, or garbage will be permitted on the dock or premises. Member further agrees to keep dock and premises free and clear of gear, tackle, and all other obstructions.
  4. Member must obtain written permission from the Harbor Master before making changes to, or altering any dock, equipment, walkway, slip, or any GLSC property.
  5. Member must obtain written permission from the Harbor Master before installing or leaving any personal property, equipment, boat lift, dock box, locker, storage structure, permanent steps, or boat cleaning devices on GLSC premises.
  6. Member agrees to throw nothing, including treated or untreated effluent of sewage from heads or holding tanks, in the harbor.
  7. Regular Member will not leave boat heaters, appliances, or other items connected to utilities on Boat in wet or dry storage in Member's absence. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by the Harbor Master. Automatic battery chargers and bilge pumps are permitted to be left connected. The Harbor Master shall have the right to board and inspect any unattended boat left connected to GLSC utilities and may disconnect any unauthorized item left connected to utilities.
  8. Member agrees to pay all dues and fees when due. After June 1 of the Membership year, any Member not current with dues and fees will be considered delinquent and Member will be suspended from the club and all club privileges will be suspended.

After June 1 of the Membership year, any Regular Member who does not provide proof of insurance will be suspended from the club and all club privileges will be suspended.

  16. In case of emergency, as determined by GLSC, Regular Member hereby grants GLSC the right to move or relocate Member's Boat if possible or practical, to a safer area to protect the Boat, property, or general welfare if Boat is unattended and Member cannot be reached. However, under no circumstances is GLSC under any obligation to provide this service. Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless from any and all liability, loss, or damage caused by or to the Boat which may arise out of failure of Member to move the Boat, the inability of GLSC to reach Member, or by the movement of the Boat by GLSC. In general, Member shall be solely responsible for any emergency measure.

  20. The use of torches or open flame, inflammable or toxic removers, or any other hazardous equipment is prohibited on docks, slips, piers, or fingers.
  21. GLSC shall have no duty preventing the repossession of a Regular Member's Boat, nor to determine the validity of a security interest in the Member's Boat or equipment. If GLSC becomes aware of the repossession of a boat or other item located on club property, their sole duty shall be to determine the identity of those effecting the repossession.
  22. Fleet Members, after receiving approval from the Fleet Master to use club-owned sailboats, will operate club-owned boats in a responsible and safe manner.
  23. Member agrees to refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that could impair the safe operation of Member's Boat or club-owned boats.
