Commodore’s Update — May 6, 2026

Happy Wednesday! Howdy — here’s what’s happening around the club.

As always, the Friday Social will be at 6pm. If you’re attending, please post your menu items here or on the Members Facebook page to help others bring complementary dishes.

This will be a busy weekend. The Board of Governors meeting is at 10am this Saturday — feel free to drop by and listen in. If you’d like to address the Board, contact the Commodore before Friday to get on the agenda.

There’s a club yard sale after the Board meeting, around noon. Setup is free but limited to sailing items only, and will be in the upper areas above the clubhouse. Come find a bargain or sell off gear you no longer need — come join the fun!

There should also be a fun flotilla on Saturday, destination TBD. Last Saturday’s flotilla had three boats make the sail to Terra Miranda and back — Son of a Sailor, Uff Da, and Windy were out with full sails in great conditions.

We’re also thrilled to be welcoming potential new members who joined a recent sail and Friday Social and fit right in with the club.

Don’t forget — the Cruise Grand Lake Sailing Adventure is approaching quickly, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest sailing events in quite some time. Troy Calhoon is heading it up with a great route laid out. Members who haven’t sailed in a while are dusting off their sails to join in. Come join us on May 14th as the group departs the docks for destinations unknown — that’s just a week away!

Last on this week’s list: a reminder to set up your access to the Members Only Area on the club’s website. You should have received an email with links and instructions. If you didn’t, check your junk/spam folder first, and if you still can’t find it, get in touch and we’ll get you steered right.

Hope to see you out this weekend for one of the events!
