Commodore’s Update — June 24, 2026

It’s that day again… Wednesday!

And now the rain comes — after Lola gets launched! The lake is up a bit to 747.4 with more rain in the forecast. The dock crew is being challenged again, but they’ve made some progress in spite of it. The east part of the transition is done, so we can get water and electric back to D dock now — stay tuned.

The Friday Social is at 6pm. Send me your menu items here or post them on the Facebook thread. We do have potential new members making their second visit this Friday — their first was a ‘try sailing’ venture with Josey Murray and myself, and it appears it didn’t scare them off!

I was unable to attend last Saturday’s events, but I hear Claude Phelps’s presentation on his Atlantic Crossing was a big hit, and there were around 20 folks on hand for Tom White’s birthday brat cook — reports are it was a good time as well.

This coming Saturday is round #4 of the Peanut Regatta Series. Right now the wind looks positive — dust off the sails and let’s git ‘er done. Captain’s Meeting at 10am. The course is expected to be to Sailboat Bridge and back, but that’s subject to change.

David Elliott has a movie night scheduled for after the regatta. The featured movie will be ‘Captain Ron,’ a classic sailing film. Bring your popcorn and drinks and join in on the clubhouse deck — start time is around dusk.

Closing for now. I hope to see ya on the water!
