Hello Wednesday — wow, what a party!
The Cheeseburger in Paradise party was one for the books: 77 RSVPs, and even after the normal change of plans, 70 attendees — beating the record for previous Cheeseburger parties and even passing the most recent Spring Fling! The party planners managed to seat everyone with a reasonable amount of elbow room by using every square foot of the clubhouse, inside and out. Even the squall line that marched through didn’t deter the group! Kudos to the party crew and the cooks for an outstanding effort.
The scavenger hunt started off with a lot more hunters than it finished with. Hunt creator Mary Snook manufactured some very creative clues to raise the difficulty from last year. The tougher clues and high humidity whittled the field down, but after a few hints the Lost Shaker of Salt was found — once again, Hunter Jensen, along with his cousin Mathias, persevered to the end.
The Friday Social will be at 6pm. Send your menu offerings to me here or post them on the Members Facebook page.
A few notes while the dock crew is working: there are temporary traffic and parking pattern changes around the landing to give the crew room to launch and retrieve dock frames. Please follow the posted directions and give them plenty of maneuvering room on the ramp. Also, during repairs some utilities are temporarily affected — we’ll get water and electric reconnected as soon as the work in that area is complete.
This coming Saturday around 1pm, Claude Phelps will present a picture/slide show on his adventures crossing the Atlantic Ocean, followed by a Q&A session. It should be quite entertaining!
This Saturday is also the annual Tom White Birthday Brats party, hosted by Tom — always a good time. Tom plans to eat around 6pm and is providing the brats and roasted corn; members, please bring sides. Please RSVP to Tom so he knows how many brats to prepare.
According to the schedule, there’s also a fun flotilla scheduled.
Welcome to the club, new fleet member Ben Robinson and new regular member Daniel Orcutt — their applications were approved at the last Board meeting. Very nice to see the Orcutt family continuing to sail with us!
Going to close for now, but as always, please let me know if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions. It’s your club, so get involved.
